Nollywood actress Rita Daniels was among those who worked behind the scenes for the re-election of Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Mrs Daniels shared videos and pictures on Instagram on Monday taken during campaign functions, hours after it was announced Mr Obaseki had been re-elected.

Obaseki of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled a total number of 307,955 votes to emerge winner of the poll while Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 223,619 votes.

In the Instagram posts, Rita who is the mother of actress Regina Daniels is seen standing as a representative of the Actors Guild of Nigeria South-South at one of the campaign functions in Edo.

The actress called on the elderly to come forward for wrappers.

“THANK YOU ALMIGHTY GOD FOR YOUR MISSION ACCOMPLISHED…… NA GOD WIN!!” Rita captioned her posts.

Rita had hitherto been wary of sharing campaign videos on social media.

The light-skinned actress was in August named Delta PDP assistant treasurer.

She brandished her certificate from the PDP in an Instagram post.

“I pray that God gives me and all Excos the strength to take the party forward,” she wrote, thanking Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his fatherly support, her local government chairman and her in-law Ned Nwoko among others.
