Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal was listed as one of the top 10 trending actors of 2023 by Google on Monday, December 11.

Moyo Lawal who earned the number one spot, buzzed the internet for months with her leaked video controversy.
The video which went viral on September 9, caused a stir online, with many criticising her for becoming the latest celebrity with a sex tape out in the public.
Moyo, who appeared seemingly unbothered at the time, took to her Instagram page to talk about her talent.
Sharing a photo from a movie set, she wrote: “Chameleon actor. #Moyobaby, #hisbabe.”
Two days after the sex tape scandal, the Badagry-born star took to Instagram to reveal the identity of the man whom she referred to as her former fiancé.
She also wrote that she would be taking legal action against him for releasing the video without her consent.
She said, “A private video of mine from a while ago has been inappropriately shared without my consent, violating my privacy and trust.
“I want to emphasise that this video was done with my ex whom I was to marry at that time, was never intended for public consumption and its unauthorised distribution is a breach of my boundaries. However, this criminal breach of privacy will be treated with legal action.”

On October 16, the actress took to her Instagram account to explain why she agreed to make an intimate video with her former lover.
She wrote: “Until a lioness tells her story, every hunter will continue to be a hero. People always take quiet, non-problematic people as fools. However, I think it is time for me to start talking. One thing… I can tell you for a fact however that things are never what they seem to be. I only had xxx twice last year, one of those times is the video. That I agreed to because he started recording after the fact, he doesn’t live in Nigeria, he put in a lot of work winning my trust over the years and I mean a lot. So much so, that we were already working towards a house, marriage and all. That is why I had to break up with him last year, when I started having communication challenges with him because I put my entire life on pause with any man I am dating.
“I have not made so many sacrifices by turning down so many dating offers, sleeping alone 90% of my entire adult life, choosing to be alone .. to have an ugly video that happened when I was ill, hanging over my head ( meanwhile to the set of unbelievers who actually thought that video was released by me, because of a foolish narrative that started because I didn’t point fingers or start trash talking or blaming anyone and stayed quiet to end it all quickly …. … I honestly don’t know what to tell you) (The rest of my caption is in my slides)
