How Biden called Nigerian family after winning election

Joe Biden calls Nigerian family

United States’ President Joe Biden spoke with a Nigerian family based in Illinois by telephone to thank them for their support in his victory at the polls.

In a video that has since gone viral, Josephine, 12, and her father, who are from Ibadan in Oyo State, spoke with President Biden and first lady Jill Biden.

During the 12-minute call, Biden praised Josephine for her intelligence and even cracked jokes with her.

“What city or town in Nigeria are you from? I‘ve been to Nigeria,” Biden asked her father.

He said: “We’re from Ibadan, that is Oyo State.”

Biden then explained to Josephine that America is strong because “for real we are a nation of immigrants.”

He also invited the family to the White House when the coronavirus comes under control.

Biden was inaugurated on Wednesday, January 20 at Captiol Hill.
