Actress Habibat Jinad has recalled how actor Odunlade Adekola supported her financially during a difficult moment while she was working on a movie production.

In an interview with Jeff Omolewa TV, she shared how the experience left a lasting impression on her, especially at a time when she was facing challenges on set.

Habibat said she had earlier invited an actor for a role and paid him N80,000, but his attitude changed after he learned she had worked with Odunlade Adekola on the same project.

According to her, the situation became tense when the actor demanded his balance before continuing filming and eventually drove off set, leaving her distressed and chasing after his car while pleading with him.

She said the experience affected her emotionally and made her reflect on the struggles of producing movies.

“All of these built me and made me stronger as a producer,” she said.

Habibat explained that the following day, she arrived on set feeling low, and Odunlade noticed her mood and asked what was wrong.

She said she opened up about her financial difficulties, and he responded by giving her N20,000 without asking for anything in return.

“I begged Odunlade to accept N130,000 from me to star in my movie. He accepted it, and when we got to the location, we acted out a scene, and he left. Another actor, when he came on set and heard that I had done a scene with Odunlade, changed his behaviour towards me. Someone I had already paid N80,000 changed his behaviour and started asking for his balance before he could shoot another scene. The actor drove off, and I had to pursue his car while pleading with him. I can’t forget it.

All of these built me and made me stronger as a producer.

When I got to set the next day, I was moody, and Odunlade asked what had happened, and I told him about my financial challenge. To my surprise, he gave me N20,000 without asking for a return.

“Brother Odun, God bless you. If I remember what I did, my heart prays for him,” she said.

Habibat added that the gesture remains unforgettable and continues to stand out in her memory.

She has previously spoken about challenges in the film industry and personal experiences on set, including difficult interactions with colleagues and lessons she learned while building her career as a producer.
