Gunmen have kidnapped an unspecified number of students following an attack on Sunday night at the College of Agriculture and Animal Science in Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

It was gathered that some members of staff were also taken captive while at least four security officials including a policeman were killed in the attack.

The college deputy registrar Atiku Bakura told BBC Hausa on Monday that about 15 students among others were missing.

Spokesman of Zamfara State Police Command Mohammed Shehu has confirmed the incident, reports Channels TV.

In July, the provost of the school Habibu Mainasara was kidnapped from his official residence in the institution.

He was released after three days in captivity.
