Gowon, Osinbajo, Oyedepo, others attend Paul Adefarasin’s mum’s funeral

Paul Adefarasin and siblings set to bury Hilda Adefarasin

Former head of state Yakubu Gowon, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and wife Dolapo, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila among others attended the funeral service of Hilda Adefarasin, mother of Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock church.

Mrs Adefarasin nee Petgrave died on Sunday, January 5 at age 98.

Other dignitaries who attended the funeral service on Friday at Guiding Light Assembly in the Ikoyi area of Lagos were Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor Tunde Bakare, and Pastor Ituah Ighodalo.

On Saturday, Adefarasin posted pictures of dignitaries present at the funeral and service of songs and tribute night on Instagram.

He said, “Thank you for the overwhelming love and support shown to my family as we laid our Matriarch, Mummy Hilda Adefarasin to rest. The memory of the righteous is truly blessed. God bless you.”

The service of songs and tribute night was held at the Rock Cathedral in Lekki, Lagos on Thursday.

The deceased is survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her husband Justice Joseph Adefarasin died on March 28, 1989.

He was the second chief judge of Lagos State (1974 to 1985) and president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from 1977 to 1981.
