Gospel music icon, Funmi Aragbaye, loses husband

Bola Aragbaye, husband of veteran gospel star, Funmi Aragbaye, is dead.

He died on Wednesday at about 2:30 p.m. at the age of 77 after a brief illness.

The septuagenarian passed on at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

Mr. Aragbaye worked at the Nigerian Tribune as a journalist under the supervision of Ex-Governor of Lagos State, Lateef Jakande, whilst he was alive.

He left Nigerian Tribune in 1967 to join The Sketch Press Limited.

He rose to the post of an Editor before former Governor of Ondo State, late Adekunle Ajasin, made him the Chief Press Secretary of his administration in 1981.

Aragbaye clocked 77 on November 10, 2018.

He is survived by his wife who is the national president of the Gospel Musicians’ Association of Nigeria, children, and grandchildren.
