FRSC officer dies while towing trailer in Abuja

An official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has died while towing a trailer from a crash scene in Abuja.

FRSC spokesman Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Bisi Kazeem confirmed this in a statement on Friday.

Mr Biu said the unfortunate road traffic crash occurred at the Karu Bridge on Nyanya-Maraba expressway on September 1.

He said the crash occurred at 04:02 a.m. while the FRSC truck on tow services was moving a trailer along the aforementioned route.

“Investigation into the crash revealed that a total of four people were involved, out of which three sustained different degrees of injuries.

“One person who happened to be the driver of the tow truck was killed. Only the two vehicles, the truck and FRSC tow truck were involved,” he said.

He said the FRSC Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, has commiserated with the management and staff of the corps over the loss.

Mr Biu, who was deeply saddened by the crash, prayed for the soul of the deceased to rest in peace and directed immediate evacuation of every obstruction caused by the crash.
