Fayemi, Dangote resolve Ganduje, Sanusi conflict

Ekiti Governor Kayode Fayemi

Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, have resolved the conflict between Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi ll.

Ganduje had on Thursday queried Sanusi over alleged misappropriation of N3.4 billion by Kano Emirate Council.

Ganduje’s spokesman, Abba Anwar, in a statement on Saturday said Sanusi and Ganduje exchanged pleasantries after the meeting in Abuja on Friday.

“As the two leaders met, they congratulated each other for the successful completion of the Ramadan Fast and the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

“Both leaders spoke and urged all Muslims to continue with the good teachings and spirit of the fasting period of the month of Ramadan.

“Emir Sanusi seized the opportunity to congratulate Gov. Ganduje for the victory in his second term in office. He also wished the governor successful tenure in office,” the statement said.

The spokesman also said that “for healthier relationship between the two institutions of government and Kano Emirate Council, the dialogues will continue.”

The statement did not say what would become of the four new emirates created by Ganduje.
