Fani-Kayode, four PDP govs plan moves to APC

Femi Fani-Kayode

A former minister of aviation and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Femi Fani-Kayode has begun considering moving to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Four PDP governors are also reportedly considering defecting to the APC ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Mr Fani-Kayode met with the caretaker chairman of the APC Mai Mala Buni, and Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello on Sunday in Abuja.

The ex-minister, meanwhile, has not made any commitment yet, according to a source quoted by PUNCH.

“Fani-Kayode met with Yahaya Bello and Buni on Sunday for two hours. It is all about politics of 2023 and the recent registration drive of the APC.

“Fani-Kayode has not made any commitment yet but discussions are still ongoing,” the source said.

Fani-Kayode shared photos of his meeting with Bello on social media.

On revealing the identities of the four PDP governors planning to defect, the source said it would be unwise to do so at this point.

The governors in question are unhappy with the perceived ambition of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his Sokoto State counterpart Aminu Tambuwal.
