Fani-Kayode counters police over identity of suspect arrested at Winners’ Chapel

Femi Fani-Kayode

Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has disputed with the police over the name of a man found with improvised explosive devices (IED) at the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners’ Chapel, Sabon Tasha, Chickun Local Government Area.

Kaduna police on Sunday identified the suspect as Nathaniel Samuel.

However, Mr Fani-Kayode said on Twitter on Monday that the man is a ‘Hausa Fulani Muslim’, adding that his real name is Mohammed Nasiru Sani.

“If anyone really believes that the individual that attempted to plant a bomb in Winners Chapel, Kaduna is a Christian and that his real name is Nathaniel Tanko they need to have their heads examined,” he said, “He is actually a Hausa Fulani Muslim and his real name is Mohammed Nasiru Sani.”

Fani quoted a Kaduna-based preacher identified as Azzaman saying: “The Kaduna bomb planter Mohammed Sani confessed to being forced in detention to bear Nathaniel Tanko in custody. He confirmed he is a Muslim & Fulani. He also claims an influential Muslim contracted him to bomb Living Faith Church Kaduna.”

Kaduna police spokesman, Yakubu Sabo, said on Sunday that investigation had begun on the incident.
