Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has commended Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State for preventing the arrest of Apostle Johnson Suleman of The Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide in Ado Ekiti in the early hours of Wednesday.

Suleman, known for preaching against alleged Islamisation of Nigeria and calling on Christians to resist the killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen, was allegedly trailed by Department of State Service (DSS) operatives to his hotel after paying a courtesy visit to the governor at the Government House.

He claimed the secret police almost forced their way into his room, but were resisted by security men of the hotel who insisted on knowing their mission.

The pastor then called Fayose who personally led a mission to prevent the arrest and took Suleman to safety.

Responding through a Twitter post, Fani-Kayode commended his friend and fellow Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Fayose, for his action.

In October, Fayose stormed a branch of Access Bank in Ado-Ekiti to release Fani-Kayode’s wife, Precious, and son who were detained by bank officials on the orders of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
