Ex-Militants at NASS

Several former Niger Delta militants have on Wednesday stormed the main entrance of the National Assembly with placards to demand payment of their allowances.

They are also protesting the sack of the coordinator of Presidential Amnesty Programme Paul Boroh.

This development comes as the National Assembly prepares to receive President Muhammadu Buhari who is expected to present the 2019 Appropriation Bill.

Some of their placards carried inscriptions like Dokubo Must Go and Pay Us Our Stipends.

While the presentation is scheduled for 11am, the protesters had stormed the gate as early as 7:30am.

They said the protest was to draw the attention of the Mr Buhari to the alleged mismanagement of the programme.
