Politicians not running adverts because of TSA, BVN

Popular comedian, Ali Baba, has alleged that the reason for the quietness of the 2019 general elections is because politicians cannot access funds for their campaigns.

The 52-year-old humour merchant revealed this on Thursday in a post on Instagram.

Ali Baba explained in his post that all the places where politicians used to get funding for their campaigns were now under the control of the Treasury Single Account (TSA).

He added that Bank Verification Number (BVN) was another reason why there are more adverts on billboards than on traditional media.

“By now, all traditional and new media would have been loaded with adverts and campaign materials.

“Oya na, do it let’s see. The good thing in all of these that is happening, is, that, gradually, CASH POLITICS, PAY AS YOU GO ELECTIONS, and HIGHEST BIDDER GETS VOTES… will soon be eradicated or at least reduced,” Ali Baba wrote.
