Bello El-Rufai, son of Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has threatened to sue a Premium Times journalist over a report alleging gang-rape.

Bello went into a battle of words with a Twitter user known as @oewonah on Sunday over President Donald Trump’s handling of COVID-19 in the United States in relation to President Muhammadu Buhari’s management of the pandemic in Nigeria.

The Twitter user then referred to Bello as ‘daddy’s boy’ and appeared to have called his father names.

Bello fired back with a statement adjudged by some to mean a threat to gang-rape his opponent’s mother.

Reacting to a report with the headline “Outrage as El-Rufai’s son threatens to gang rape Twitter user’s mother” published on Monday by the journalist, Bello threatened he would be taking the matter up with his lawyers.

“Oh @SamuelOgundipe, our hired PDP columnist, you in particular were the last piece of the puzzle. I assure you that my lawyers will get to you to prove the usage/threat of rape,” he said.

“The onus is on you. I eagerly anticipate the #FreeSamuel hashtag. Thanks for completing the jigsaw.”

First Lady of Kaduna State, Hadiza El-Rufai, has defended her son, saying he did not threaten anyone with gang-rape.
