Ebenezer Obey dances with Obasanjo at 80th birthday party

Veteran musician Ebenezer Obey could not hold back his joy as he danced with former president Olusegun Obasanjo at his 80th birthday party.

The party was held at the Presidential Library in Ogun State on Friday.

A video of the former president holding hands with the musician as they danced and sang together while Baba Ayewa performed his hit song ‘Amona Tete Wa’ melted the hearts of Nigerians who commended their friendship.

On Sunday, April 3, Obey held a dignitary-studded thanksgiving celebration at his church, Decross Gospel Mission headquarters, Agege, Lagos which saw the presence of Vice president Yemi Osinbajo, music icon King Sunny Ade, Pastor Tunde Bakare, veteran gospel singer Pastor Joseph Adelakun (Baba Ayewa), Senator Solomon Adeola and wife of the former president, Chief (Mrs) Bola Obasanjo, the event was indeed a day of great honour for the living music legend as encomiums were showered on him.

Speaking at the event, Obey appreciated God for the divine grace to have attained 80 in sound mind. He also appreciated his parents, especially his mother for their role in his life, and acknowledged President Muhammadu Buhari for identifying his contribution to nation-building and making him a role model for the Nigerian youth.
