The Department of State Security (DSS) has invited the head of logistics of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Okechukwu Ibeanu, for questioning, TheCable reports.

INEC chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, had blamed logistics challenges for the postponement of the general elections.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Monday at the APC caucus meeting in Abuja said that the electoral body would be probed after elections to determine what led to the postponement of elections despite early preparations.

TheCable also reports that INEC director of ICT, Chidi Nwafor; director of procurement, Ken Ukeagu; director of voter education and publicity, Osaze Uzzi; and the assistant director of ICT, Bimbo Oladunjoye, were also invited.

Ibeanu took over from Amina Zakari in October 2018 as head of logistics.

The newspaper also reported that Ibeanu has been invited to report to the DSS headquarters in Abuja at 2pm on Tuesday.

Ibeanu has been subject to criticisms on social media since the postponement of elections by one week.
