Donald Duke on Nasdaq Tower

A picture of former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke was displayed on Monday on the Nasdaq Tower in Times Square, New York after he spoke at the African Trade and Investment Global Summit (ATIGS).

Mr Duke, 56, earlier this month announced that he wishes to run for election as Nigeria’s president in 2019.

It is not yet clear under which party he would run as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to which he belongs has zoned the position to the North.

“I’m running. I am sure many, many will join,” he told AFP.

The Nasdaq Tower is considered the most visible LED video display in Times Square and is one of the most valuable advertising spaces in the world.

It is the largest continuous sign in Times Square with close to 9,000 square feet of display space – about a quarter of an acre.

ATIGS is a prestigious biennial business conference and exhibition designed specifically to promote and facilitate international trade between Americas, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, UAE, with Africa; to facilitate foreign direct investment in Africa, and to provide a platform for businesses to expand into new markets.

The theme for the 2018 summit is “Driving Trade, Unleashing Investment and Enhancing Economic Development: the Gateway to African Markets”.
