DJ Spinall suspends album promotion to mourn DJ Olu

DJ Spinall

DJ Spinall on Sunday announced that he will not promote his new album, Dreams, in any form for three days to mourn his friend and colleague, DJ Olu.

The deceased, who was found dead in his car on Saturday, is the son of businessman and politician, Dapo Abiodun.

Spinall’s initial reaction to news of the death is captured in Twitter message: “Shouldn’t have been you Olu”.

On Sunday, he said he wishes he could postpone the release of his third studio album but could not due to administrative reasons.

He, however, pledged that he and his management would not be talking about the interview, granting an interview or doing any other form of promotion for three days after the official release date in honour of the dead.

DJ Olu was also a friend to Davido, who lost another friend, Tagbo, earlier in the week.

Olamide, Phyno, M.I, Tiwa Savage and several others have also mourned his departure.
