Dino Melaye's colleague survives auto crash

Ahmed Ogembe, a colleague of Senator Dino Melaye, on Friday survived an auto crash along the Abuja-Lokoja road on his way to Okene for elections.

Senator Ogembe is representing Kogi Central in the National Assembly, while Dino Melaye represents Kogi West. They are both members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ogembe’s spokesman, Duke Opeyemi, disclosed details of the crash in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lokoja.

Mr Opeyemi said the accident occurred at about 9 a.m. at Gegu community in Kotonkarfe LGA of Kogi State.

The spokesman also said that the senator’s bulletproof car somersaulted several times, the senator and other occupants of the vehicle, however, came out unhurt.

The senator expressed gratitude to God for saving his life and that of the people with him.

He prayed for more of God’s protection over his life, his family and the entire people of his constituents and Kogi State in general.
