Deji of Akure meets Ooni, Olori Naomi over divorce

Deji of Akure Kingdom Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi has waded into the marital crisis between the Ooni of lfe Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and his wife, Olori Naomi.

The queen, who bore a son for the Ooni last year, had announced their separation in an Instagram post on December 23. According to her, she was leaving because the king’s public image was at variance with “his true self.”

The queen had also moved out of the palace and reportedly relocated to Ondo.

However, Oba Aladelusi, who is also chairman, Ondo State Council of Obas, met both parties in a bid to save the marriage which was once considered to be heaven-made as the queen was a prophetess who was running a growing church before trying the knots with the king in 2018.

Confirming the reconciliation moves, chief press secretary of the Deji of Akureland Michael Adeyeye told PUNCH, “Yes, the chairman council of Obas in the state, the Deji of Akureland personally paid a private visit to both parties and the matter was discussed and being ironed out. The process is ongoing and all the tension has gone down.”
