Activist, Deji Adeyanju, has declared his intention to contest in the 2023 presidential election.

Mr Adeyanju, a vocal critic of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, made his intention known via a tweet early Wednesday.

“I will be running for President in 2023. Our campaign slogan will be: REVOLUTION OF IDEAS,” he wrote.

In another tweet, he called on his supporters to join him in voting out the current administration.

“Join me in this journey to vote out the most corrupt, clueless, lying, unaware, uninformed, divisive, incompetent, unhinged, pathetic excuse for a president in the history of our country. He has brought nothing but shame to our country. #WeWillDoBetter,” he wrote.

Adeyanju has not held a public office before.

President Buhari, however, will be vacating the seat in 2023 after two terms.

A national leader of the governing party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, is being suggested as his successor.
