D’banj crawls on stage during performance to celebrate release from ICPC custody

Music star D’banj has performed for the first time since his release from Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The singer who was detained on Tuesday for allegedly collaborating with some government officials to introduce ghost beneficiaries into the payroll of the N-Power scheme in order to divert funds, was released on Friday afternoon.

On Saturday, the pop star made his first appearance on stage, where he performed at the 2022 dinner party for Immaculate Conception College (Benin City) Old Boys Association, Lagos branch held at Federal Palace Hotel.

In a video posted on Instagram by music promoter Soso Soberekon a grateful D’banj who was keeling down, could also be seen crawling the stage as he expressed gratitude to God for his release.

“Thank God, Mobo lowo won, May God not allow one to be detained over what one knows nothing about,” the 42-year-old could be heard saying.

D’banj also expressed gratitude to those who prayed for him while in custody.
