Davido’s photographer Fortune Umunname has died.

The Lagos-born celebrity photographer, who was 24 years old, reportedly drowned at a photoshoot location in Lagos on Tuesday evening.

Details of his death are still sketchy.

The photographer worked with a number of high-profile Nigerian celebrities.

In a recent interview, Fortune said that he started working with Davido in 2016, he also mentioned that working with the singer has been a blessing.

“For me, it’s a blessing, and I’m grateful to David for the opportunity over the years. One important lesson I’ve picked up from Davido is learning to treat people equally and better. For David, no matter the race, no matter the standard, no matter the culture, Davido treats people well.

“Since David is one of the influential artists pushing the genre forward, one of the things I respect about him and I feel other artists need to adopt is never forget where you’re coming from. David is one person with accurate knowledge of what he wants and how he will get it. You can’t convince him of something he’s not ready to work with. David can be here now he has a variety of things to do,” he said.

Davido’s aide Obama DMW died in June 2021 after complaining of shortness of breath, reports said he drove himself to a hospital in the Lekki area of Lagos where he eventually died a few hours later.

In December 2020, Davido’s bodyguard, Tijani Olamilekan aka TeeJay died after a battle with an illness.
