Singer Davido has arrived in Nigeria for the candlelight procession and tribute in honour of the late singer Mohbad.

The 30-year-old posted videos of his arrival in Lagos on Instagram on Wednesday.

Some of the videos show the Afrobeats star arriving at the Legend Hotel Lagos Airport and buying suya at another location with fans around him.

The DMW boss had earlier indicated that he would come to Nigeria from London where he was touring to attend the procession for Mohbad after it was announced on the late singer’s Instagram account on Monday, September 18.

Davido also claimed he could not sleep because of the 27-year-old’s death.

“MOHBAD, UR SPIRIT STRONG OOO… SLEEP COME HARD Me,” he wrote.

There are also reports that Davido sent N2million to Mahbad’s father for support.

The procession for Mohbad is planned to begin at Lekki Phase One gate and end with a tribute concert at Muri Okunola Park.

Fans, celebrities and other personalities have paid tributes to the late singer since his death on Tuesday, September 12.

Video and audio recordings released on social media after his death sparked allegations of vicious assaults by agents of his former label Marlian Music owned by Naira Marley.

With fingers pointing at those allegedly complicit in Mohbad’s death, the deceased’s father stated in an interview that although his son felt his life was threatened by Naira Marley, he could not say if the latter was responsible for his death.

Mohbad’s mother later broke her silence, saying her son’s death was not natural and that those responsible will pay for it.

She also stated that her son’s association with Naira Marley negatively affected him and speculations that the deceased had mental issues were not true.
