Daughter of broadcaster killed in Ikorodu robbery found

Fareeda, the little girl kidnapped in the fatal robbery during which her mother, Aisha Thelma Alli-Balogun Abiose, was killed along the Ikorodu expressway on Friday has been found.

Friends of Abiose, a broadcaster and actress, announced on Facebook on Tuesday that the girl has returned home.

“Thank you all for your prayers, shares and worries, President Fareera is back home, all praise to God,” wrote Morenike Adegbenjo Adedeji.

Odubonojo Tolulope wrote “Praise God president Fareeda is back home. Aisha Thelma Alli-Balogun Abiose wish you were here to see your daughter again. God we hand over Faisal and Fareeda keep and protect them and make them great.”

There is yet no official confirmation about how the girl’s release was secured or if the deceased’s pregnant friend who was also kidnapped during the attack has also regained her freedom.

A text message from Qed.ng seeking confirmation from the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Dolapo Badmos, had not been responded to at the time of filing this report.
