Dalung condemns Boko Haram’s attack on Army

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung, has condemned the recent Boko Haram terrorist attacks on the 157 Task  Force Battalion at Metele, a Nigerian military base in Borno near Nigeria’s border with the Niger Republic.
The Minister in a Statment issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser Media, Nneka Ikem Anibeze commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari and the families of the slain patriots described the killings as senseless and barbaric.
“I stand with Mr President in this war against terrorism and my heart is with our troops as they make selfless sacrifices in defence of our nation,” he said.
“These attacks are senseless and coming at a  critical period. It should not be viewed as a setback of our collective efforts to deal with the security situation, but rather an attempt to portray our determination in a bad light.
“Nonetheless, I am convinced that the Nigerian troops will overcome this situation be stronger for it than before.
“I urge our countrymen and women to stand with our troops as the war against terrorism is an all-out war for the survival of our nation”.The statement added.
Dalung prayed that the Almighty God reward the sacrifices of the gallant soldiers and grant their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
At least 118 soldiers were killed and 153 missing in the Sunday attack on 157 Task Force Battalion in Metele, Borno State.
