Daddy Freeze’s dad clocks 75

Daddy Freeze

Dr Olarinde, father of the broadcaster Daddy Freeze, on Saturday clocked 75.

The radio talk show host born Ifedayo Olarinde penned an emotional message to his father on Instagram, praising his selflessness.

“Happy Birthday Dr. Olarinde, you have selflessly given your all to serve the public as a medical doctor,” he began.

“As a distinguished student who topped his class in Medical school (Your lecturers in Romania confirmed this to me), you could have easily chosen the path of prosperity. Instead, you offered your services to the poor, for little or no financial reward in return.

“You have always given and up until now continue to give to your extended family and to the society at large, with no expectations.”

Happy Birthday Dr. Olarinde, you have selflessly given your all to serve the public as a medical doctor. – As a distinguished student who topped his class in Medical school (Your lecturers in Romania confirmed this to me), you could have easily chosen the path of prosperity. Instead, you offered your services to the poor, for little or no financial reward in return. – You have always given and up until now continue to give to your extended family and to the society at large, with no expectations. – As a teenager, I felt you were shortchanging yourself. Denying us earthly luxuries and worldly pleasures, in your quest to serve humanity. Today I know better, your service and charity towards mankind cannot go unrewarded. – You have always been a steadfast Muslim and your ‘zakat’ in cash and kind has been a worthy kingdom investment, that I pray you reap from, in the age to come. – You were a good son to your late parents, I only hope that I can be half as good a son to you, as you were to them! – 75 hearty cheers to you daddy, ~FRZ – ◄ Acts 10 ► New Living Translation [1] In Caesarea there lived a Roman army officera named Cornelius, who was a captain of the Italian Regiment. [2] He was a devout, God-fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God. [3] One afternoon about three o’clock, he had a vision in which he saw an angel of God coming toward him. “Cornelius!” the angel said. [4] Cornelius stared at him in terror. “What is it, sir?” he asked the angel. And the angel replied, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have been received by God as an offering!

Daddy Freeze further said as a teenager, he thought his father was wrong by denying them luxuries to serve humanity, adding that he knew better now.

“You were a good son to your late parents, I only hope that I can be half as good a son to you, as you were to them!” he said.

Daddy Freeze’s paternity was questioned recently after a cleric Pastor David Ibiyeomie rebuked him for his constant criticism of a senior cleric Bishop David Oyedepo.

The broadcaster was forced to share photos of his family to disprove Ibiyeomie’s claim he was a Somalian born on a ship with no identifiable father.

Freeze’s father Olarinde studied medicine in Romania where he met Smaranda who would later become the broadcaster’s mother.

Olarinde runs a private medical firm in Ibadan, Oyo State.
