Court remands 3 men for allegedly stealing aluminum scraps worth N4m

 A  Karmo Grade I Area Court Abuja, on Thursday, ordered that three men who allegedly stole aluminum scraps worth N4 million, be remanded in a correctional facility, pending bail applications.

The police charged Alhassan Ibrahim,39, Olaleye Musuba, 52 and Oluwa Femi,30 with three counts of joint act, criminal breach of trust and theft.

The judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, who gave the order, adjourned the case until Nov.  19 for hearing in the bail.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Ijeoma Ukagha, told the court that the complainant, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed, who live in Karmo, Abuja, reported the matter at the Karmo Police Station on July 7.

Ukagha informed the court that the defendants who operate a transportation company loaded the aluminium scraps from Eleka Junction, Karmo on their truck with registration number, SMK 413 XJ.

She said that the defendants who were asked to deliver the scraps to Tower Company in Ogun state, criminally diverted the scraps to their own use.

Ukagha said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 79,312 and 288 of the Penal Code.

They pleaded not guilty.
