Court fixes date for Chidinma Ojukwu, others’ arraignment

Super TV CEO Usifo Ataga suspected killer Chidinma

Murder suspect Chidinma Ojukwu and two others will be arraigned on October 12 at the Lagos State High Court over the death of the chief executive officer of Super TV, Usifo Ataga.

Ms Ojukwu, 21, was arrested by the police on June 23 for allegedly killing Mr Ataga at a short-let apartment in Lekki area of Lagos.

Ojukwu, an undergraduate of the University of Lagos, will be arraigned by the Lagos State Government before Justice Yetunde Adesanya.

Also to be arraigned are Ojukwu’s sister Chioma Egbuchu who was allegedly found with the deceased’s phone, and Quadri Adedapo.

Ojukwu was first arraigned at the Yaba Magistrate Court which had no jurisdiction over such matters.

The directorate of public prosecution (DPP) had advised that four of five persons which the police arraigned before the magistrate for obstructing justice in the matter should not be prosecuted.

They are Chidinma’s adopted father, Onoh Ojukwu, 57; Babalola Disu, 42; Abayomi Olutayo, 23; and Ifeoluwa Olowu, 23.
