Covid-19: Lagos reveals airline boarded by infected Italian

Lagos State Government says the Italian who has been confirmed as Nigeria’s first case of coronavirus (Covid-19) came into the country via Turkish Airline on February 24.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, briefing the press on Friday, alongside commissioner for health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, said the patient, who is now in strict isolation, is in stable condition and has not developed any respiratory symptoms for now.

Mr Sanwo-Olu said the state’s officials are cooperating with the Federal Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO) to identify all who may have come in contact with the patient.

The Italian citizen was said to have fallen ill on February 26 and was transferred to Lagos State biosecurity facility for isolation and testing from a health facility in Ogun.
