Chioma Akpotha responds after being criticised for asking for gifts

Nollywood actress, Chioma Akpotha, has responded to the criticism she received after admitting that she wants to be spoiled and pampered with gifts.

The 40-year-old had on Monday requested gifts from her fans, specifying that she likes things perfumes, money, and cash.

“So somebody cannot look at me now and say…’ Heys ! Fine geh, how are you ? Can I have your akant number? I want to credit ya aza?’

Or ‘Can I send some goodies your way?’ Or ‘What do you want let me buy it/them for you… I want to feel loved bikonu. I want to be pampered

“Someone should please send me gifts. Perfumes (I am crazy about perfumes it’s unbelievable ! ) Money. Cash..,” she wrote on Instagram”

Some of her followers offered to send her money, clothes and other gifts while others criticised her for asking for gifts even though she is rich celebrity.

One Instagram user with username @anita.melanin wrote, “Hmmm is your husband seeing this post? He should be spoiling you not coming online to make inappopriate demands.

“No one owes you anything. U Nigerian yeyebrities amaze me. Comedians be begging while performing…

And another with username, @pauleziafa, informed her, “Hanty, you are bigger than that nah.”

The Wives on Strike star responded to the comments on Instagram on Monday.

She wrote, “So on my last post, I expressed how I want to feel loved and be pampered, even went on to mention a few of my favourite things but una nor send me.

“Even to like the picture sef hard una. Oya write better comment nko, for wia. Instead na abuse una dey abuse me… some even called me yeyebirty #SMH.

But if I say ‘giveaway by 9 PM here’, ‘Drop your account details’, I will have almost five thousand comments in five minutes…”

Other celebrities who have complained that fans are only interested in giveaways includeformer Big Brother Naija housemate, Ifu Ennada and actresses, Ufuoma McDermott and Uche Ogbodo.

Uche even stated that she wishes she was a star in America and not Nigeria for the same reason.
