Singer and winner of Project Fame West Africa 2010 Chidinma Ekile has announced her rebrand as a gospel artiste.

Chidinma won the hearts of many with her sonorous voice when she emerged winner of the music talent show. She would later be known as Ms. Kedike following her 2012 hit song ‘Kedike’ off her debut album Chidinma.

The singer wrote in a post to Instagram on Sunday that she was now a “crusader of the gospel of Jesus” and has released a single ‘Jehovah Overdo’.

“My name is Minister Chidinma Ekile. I’m a crusader of the gospel of Jesus. I’m a crusader of the gospel of Jesus Christ,” she wrote.

The announcement coincides with her 30th birthday.

Chidinma’s pop career began on a fiery note with her debut single ‘Jankoliko’ featuring Sound Sultan in 2011.

She had several hit songs while signed to iLLBliss and Clarence Peters’ record label, Capital Hill/Goretti Company. Chidinma was even rumoured to be in a romantic relationship with Flavour N’abania whom she shared chemistry with on stage.

At the 2012 edition of the KORA Awards, she won Best Female West African Act. She was also nominated for Best Female Act at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards.
