Buhari’s son, emir’s daughter count down to wedding with polo tournament

Yusuf Buhari, son of President Muhammadu Buhari, and his bride-to-be Princess Zahra Ado-Bayero began the countdown to their wedding with a polo tournament during the weekend.

Those who graced the event include the couple’s relatives, friends and the newlywed daughter of Bauchi State Governor Fatima Zahra Bala and her husband.

Yusuf and Zahra, who is the daughter of the Emir of Bichi Nasir Ado-Bayero, will be joined in matrimony on August 20.

Last month, spokesperson for Bichi Emirate Lurwanu Malikawa in a statement said the emir had inaugurated a 145-man committee to facilitate a hitch-free wedding fatiha.

According to the statement, the committee will also organise the emir of Bichi’s coronation, including his presentation of staff of office by Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

In addition, the statement indicated that the committee would be chaired by the district head of Bagwai, Nura Ahmad (Madakin Bichi), with Abba Waziri (Falakin Bichi), as the secretary.

While the wedding fatiha would hold on August 20, the coronation will take place the following day August 21 at the emir of Bichi’s palace.

Yusuf met Zahra at the time he studied at the University of Surrey, UK, same school Zahra did her Architecture degree programme.
