Halima Buhari-Sheriff, daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Victim Support Fund (VSF) to operate a school built by the Aisha Buhari Foundation.

Mrs Buhari-Sheriff signed the MoU in her role as secretary of the foundation, according to an Instagram post on Friday by her mother Aisha Buhari.

Prof. Nana Tanko signed the MoU on behalf of VSF.

The school named Future Assured College built in Maiduguri, Borno State will be jointly operated by the foundation and VSF.

“The school is meant to provide an opportunity for children of the less privileged to get quality education and become future generational leaders, as Education is the foundation for any developed society and it’s at the core of what we do at the ABF,” the first lady wrote.

“I urge for more collaborative efforts from well to do Nigerians to ensure that more children especially those displaced by insurgency, banditry or any form of disaster are provided with qualitative basic education to prepare them for productive life.”

She also thanked the chairman of VSF, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma; executive director of VSF, Prof Tanko; and the Borno State Government for their continued support.
