Buhari appoints Bashir Jamoh to replace Peterside as NIMASA boss

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Bashir Jamoh as the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Qed.ng has learnt.

Jamoh, who is the current Executive Director (Admin and Finance) at NIMASA, will replace Dakuku Peterside who was appointed in 2016 to head the maritime agency.

Mr Peterside’s tenure as NIMASA boss ends on March 10.

Jamoh has a PhD in Logistics and Transport Management from the University of Port Harcourt with 32 years of professional and technocratic experience in the transportation and maritime sectors.

The 56-year-old also holds a master’s degree in Management from Korea Maritime and Ocean University, Post Graduate Diploma in Management Sciences from Bayero University, Kano and a Diploma in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, respectively.

The Kaduna native joined NIMASA in January 1994 as a Principal Commercial Officer, rising to the rank of Executive Director in August 2016.
