Oluwo gets six months suspension

Oluwo of Iwo Land Oba Abdul-Rasheed Akanbi

The Osun State Traditional Rulers’ Council has suspended the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, for six months.

The monarchs reached the decision on Friday at an emergency meeting held at Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere.

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, presided over the meeting.

Oluwo was suspended over a physical attack on the Agbowu of Ogbagba, Oba Dhikirulahi Olaniran. He was also suspended for his alleged disrespect for the Alaafin of Oyo, Alake of Egbaland and Ooni.

A committee headed by Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun, was also constituted by the council to further investigate the matter involving Oluwo and Obas in Iwo land.
