Edo sees first coronavirus case, 4 others in Abuja, Lagos

Edo State has recorded its first case of the coronavirus ravaging the world, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on Monday.

The NCDC announced in a tweet that two each were recorded in Lagos and Abuja, bringing the total number to 35.

“Five new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 2 in FCT, 2 in Lagos & 1 in Edo,” it said.

“2 cases are returning travellers from the UK. As at 09:45 am on 23rd March, there are 35 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged.”

Lagos has the highest number of infected persons – 24, Abuja is next on six, followed by Ogun on two.

Ekiti, Oyo and Edo complete the chart on one each.
