Actress Bolaji Ogunmola has responded to concerns from fans questioning the decision to produce a sequel to the film Ajosepo.
Bolaji, who also serves as one of the producers of the project, reacted on her X account on Monday following the exclusive premiere of the movie held at IMAX Lekki on Sunday.
She wrote, “To the people asking why we made a sequel for AJOSEPO …. JUST watch it and find out. We are outside from the 28th of May”.
Ajosepo 2 continues the story from the first film Ajosepo, a Nigerian comedy drama released in 2024 that follows a young couple, Dapo and Tani, as they prepare for their wedding while navigating tensions from their families. The story explores love, family expectations, and secrets that test relationships.
The first film was directed by Kayode Kasum and featured actors including Timini Egbuson, Mike Afolarin, Tomike Adeoye, Mercy Aigbe, Muyiwa Ademola, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Lizzy Jay, and Bolaji Ogunmola. It was produced under Film Trybe and had contributions from several filmmakers including Kayode Kasum as director.
The sequel is expected to continue from where the first film ended, with more details about its plot and full cast yet to be fully disclosed ahead of its cinema release.
