Former FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, was jeered on Friday as he delivered a speech on corruption in football.

Blatter was interrupted by a small group of protesters who blew whistles and chanted while addressing the students at the University of Basel.

Looking so furious, the 80-year-old uttered “shame on you” as the protesters were dismissed from the arena.

The Swiss then said to the audience: “I am sorry. They are not coming for you, they are coming for me.”

After the interruption by the protesters, he reiterated his disappointment for not doing enough to sanitise FIFA.

“I do not regret what I have not done. I regret that I have not done enough to bring back FIFA on the right track.

“What is important is to say it was wrong to not have had enough power or energy – the will was there – to bring back FIFA on the right track.” he stated.

Blatter was banned from football for eight years as a result of scandals rocking the world football governing body four months ago.

The suspension was, however, reduced to six in February for “services to football”.
