Rapper Blaqbonez has described the music industry as “very wicked” over what he called a lack of support from fellow artistes for his new single ‘Chanel’.
In a post shared on X, the rapper expressed frustration that none of his peers had promoted the song since its release despite him regularly supporting their music online.
“I think this [music] industry is very wicked because since i dropped Chanel, none of my peers have posted it,” he wrote.
“@Drake I posted yours last week, @centralcee @1future @1GunnaGunna I support you when you drop but when i put out the biggest song of the summer its crickets, the double standards.”
Blaqbonez said he often uses his social media pages to support colleagues by sharing their songs, but claimed the gesture is rarely returned when he releases music.
The rapper recently released ‘Chanel’, a collaboration with Asake, under Chocolate City Music. The song began gaining attention online before its official release following snippets shared on social media.
Reports also show that the track debuted strongly on streaming platforms and quickly climbed charts in Nigeria after its release.
Blaqbonez, known for songs such as ‘Back in Uni’ and ‘Bling’, has in recent months remained active in the music scene with new releases and public exchanges involving fellow rapper Odumodublvck.
