Actress and model, Beverly Osu, has come under attack from some social media users over a Catholic-themed photoshoot she did for a magazine.
The 25-year-old 2013 Big Brother Africa housemate began releasing a series of pictures from the shoot on Monday and the magazine’s publishers released a clip of the actress dressed as a smoking erotic nun and in a state of undress.
Those who missed Monday’s posts saw a picture of the smoking nun on Beverly’s Instagram page on Tuesday.
Reactions came in thick and fast, with several people knocking the actress for disrespecting the Catholic Church and Christianity.
A defiant Beverly, who made news by having bathroom sex with fellow Big Brother housemate, Angelo Collins from South Africa, responded that she was born a Catholic and takes the faith seriously.
She, however, added that “people should rather worry and pray for the hundreds of thousands of innocent victims that are rapped and abused by priests all over the world particularly over 1000 victims raped by 300 priests in Pennsylvania than worry over a photo that is a mere work of art.”
Coming weeks after the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) condemned rapper, Falz, for using Hijab-wearing girls in his ‘This is Nigeria’ music video, some people on Twitter wasted no time in condemning the actress.
