Bayelsa State Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa, on Thursday after collapsing in his office.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon while he was attending to official duties, leading to an emergency response from his aides and security personnel.

Eyewitnesses said he was in a serious condition when he was moved into the hospital’s emergency unit.

He was later stabilised and transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

A source close to Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo cited his workload, saying, “He’s a workaholic; he should find time to rest.”

Security operatives have cordoned off the hospital, while senior government officials have arrived at the facility to check on his condition.
