Police have arraigned a bartender, Timothy Taiwo, in a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N119,000 from his employer.

The 21-year-old, who resides in Onipan area of Lagos, was arraigned on Friday on theft charge.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Police prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence at 11 pm on January 9 at Team-Swag Bar located at No. 47, Oluwadare Street, Shomolu, Lagos.

The magistrate ordered that the sureties should be gainfully employed and show evidence of three years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
