Armed soldiers, policemen storm Sahara Reporters’ Lagos office

Armed security personnel have reportedly stormed the Lagos office of Sahara Reporters.

According to the online news platform, the security officers arrived at the location early Wednesday threatening to bring down the gate if they are not granted easy access.

Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has been in detention since August for masterminding a nationwide protest tagged RevolutionNow.

Also, about 50 policemen in 10 trucks have surrounded the premises of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) in Adeniyi Jones area of Ikeja, Lagos.

The policemen were said to have arrived as early as 7 am.

A protest demanding the release of Mr Sowore has been scheduled to take place at the venue at 10 am on Wednesday.
