A two-storey building at 24 Adio Street, Garage Bus stop on Thursday collapsed in Gbagada area of Lagos.

The chief executive officer of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said emergency responders at the scene of the incident had rescued a victim.

Mr Oke-Osanyintolu said the fall was caused by the building being old, adding that the entire structure would now be pulled down.

“It was a partial building collapse which involved just one casualty. The person was injured and have been rescued. It is an old distress building, so some part of it collapsed and we are going to pull it down,” he said.

This comes four days after four children and a man were injured in a building collapse in Ososa area of Bariga, Lagos.
