Four students have been confirmed killed with eight others injured following the collapse of a bridge at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Gubi Campus, Bauchi State on Monday night.
ATBU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulazeez Ahmed, confirmed this to Channels Television on Tuesday.
The bridge links one of the hostels and another building containing lecture rooms.
It collapsed at midnight during a heavy downpour as students were returning to their hostels after night study for their on-going 1st-semester examination.
The students have begun protesting, blaming the authorities’ negligence for the bridge collapse.
