Beninese-American music icon Angelique Kidjo has attended Burna Boy’s concert in Paris.
The 60-year-old shared a photo of themselves exchanging hugs backstage on Instagram on Thursday.
“Africans In Paris »: glorious concert of @burnaboygram tonight at the @accor_arena,” she captioned the photo.
Burna Boy has been on a world music tour since October.
The singer was nominated alongside Kidjo at the 2020 Grammy Awards for Best World Music Album which he lost to Kidjo.
However, Kidjo dedicated her win to him, saying: “Burna Boy is among those young artistes that come from Africa that is changing the way our continent is perceived and the way that African music is the bedrock of all music.”
The following year Burna Boy won an award for the same category and Kidjo congratulated him.
“Congratulations on your well-deserved Grammy,” Kidjo wrote along with a picture of the two of them taken last year.
She also visited him and his mum after her Grammy win last year.
