American YouTuber Kai Cenat has linked up with Nigerian singer Davido after visiting the Makoko area of Lagos where he reportedly donated $3,000 towards a school project and was served amala, a Nigerian delicacy.
The duo met on Monday night, days after Kai arrived in the country. Davido took the content creator to a restaurant before driving him around Lagos. On their way to the restaurant, Davido bragged that his wife Chioma is the best chef and would have prepared a meal for him if she had been around.
“I wish my wife was here bro, if my wife was here she would have cooked the best food ever. Her name is Chioma and she is the best chef ever,” he said as Kai gave Chioma a shout-out.
The ‘Unavailable’ singer also took Kai to a club where they partied together alongside celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest. In a video shared on his YouTube, a 22-year-old Kai could be seen showing off his dance moves.
Kai Cenat decided to visit Nigeria shortly after being inspired by Burna Boy’s music. He announced his plan on his Instagram story on March 8, saying that he wants to experience the Nigerian culture.
He arrived in Nigeria on March 9, 2024, and was welcomed by a crowd of fans and drummers. He also received a Nigerian name, “Femi Omo Werey”, from comedian Shanks Comics who has been serving as his tour guide since he arrived in the country.
In a video shared via Kai’s YouTube channel, Shank could be seen showing the content creator around.
They both also sampled delicacies like amala, okra soup with assorted meat and engaged with children during a visit to a school within the Makoko community.
Shanks also took Kai Cenat on a shopping spree at a popular Lagos market where he bought several clothes and shoes.
Shanks also set him up on a date with several women who had a one-on-one session with him.
Kai Cenat is best known for his live streams and comedy-based content that he uploads on YouTube and Twitch. He started his YouTube channel in 2018 and began making videos surrounding pranks and challenges.Â
Kai Cenat is also a rapper who released his debut single ‘Bustdown Rollie Avalanche’ with NLE Choppa in May 2022.
He was also featured in the trailer for Polo G’s single ‘Distraction’ in June 2022. He has also included celebrity guests on his streams, such as Bobby Shmurda, Lil Baby, and 21 Savage.
