Alaafin’s wife Queen Aanu confirms exit from palace, alleges threat to life

Queen Aanu the estranged wife of the Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III has alleged that she is being threatened by the monarch for leaving her marriage.

The mother of two made the allegation in an Instagram post in which she tagged the Nigeria Police Force.

“It is with great sadness that I am putting out this statement. I deem it necessary to do so as I feel my life is being threatened as a result of me walking out of my marriage,” she wrote on Wednesday.

“The purpose of this statement is to let all and sundry know that should anything happen to me and my children, it is as a result of my exit from the palace, and the monarch should be held responsible.”

Queen Aanu also said she was appalled to find out her family is being harassed because of her unknown location to the king.

The queen had in June praised the Alaafin, describing him as her lover and history teacher.

“I also want to thank my Husband, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi III, Iku Baba Yeye, Alaafin of Oyo. JP CFR LLD SAP. Who Has Been The Gamaliel under whose feet I continue to learn,” she wrote in an Instagram post to celebrate her birthday.

Queen Aanu is not the only troubled wife of the 82-year-old monarch.

Queens Ola and Dami have allegedly left the Oyo palace too.

The former was rumoured to have had affair with fuji musician and Maiyegun of Yorubaland K1 de Ultimate earlier in the year.
